Chat with colleagues in the Employee Hub
Open Chats from the top bar of the Employee Hub to message a colleague directly or start a named group. Messages arrive in real time, you can see when someone is online or typing, and read receipts show who has seen your latest message. Paste a screenshot or attach up to five files to a message. Images show inline and open enlarged with a click, other files download in one click.
Nobody has to keep the Hub open to stay in the loop. If a message goes unread for a couple of minutes, flair sends an email or a Slack message with the text of the newest messages, and the browser tab shows an unread count. Each employee chooses their own channels under Notification settings → Chat. Chat is available in the Employee Hub on the web. Slack alerts need the flair Slack app connected.
Key highlights:
- Direct and group chats from the Hub top bar, with online, typing and read indicators
- Pasted screenshots and file attachments, with images shown inline
- Email and Slack alerts only for messages left unread, set per employee
- Group admins can manage members and delete group conversations
Pay gap reporting for the EU pay transparency rules
The new Equity Audits tab under Compensations runs a company-wide pay gap analysis for any date you choose. The result shows how many women and men sit in each pay quartile, the pay thresholds between quartiles, and the average and median gap for each worker category. Gaps of 5% or more are highlighted in amber, and a completed run exports as a CSV file you can hand to an auditor or a works council. Results are headcounts and aggregates only, never an individual salary.
Comparing work of equal value starts with grouping roles into worker categories, each with documented criteria. Where the flair AI integration is connected, flair can draft those criteria from your existing roles and flag the roles that fit a category poorly, for you to review before saving. Each category also gets a pay analysis snapshot on demand, which is the data you need to answer an employee's request for pay information. The tab needs the Salary Manager, Budget Manager or Manager permission set, and an admin runs the first analysis.
Key highlights:
- Company pay gap by quartile and by worker category, with gaps of 5% or more flagged
- CSV export of any completed run, and an optional yearly scheduled run
- Warnings when pay bands overlap within a worker category, dismissible with a recorded reason
- Pay analysis snapshots per worker category for employee pay information requests

More Improvements This Month
Skills that show the gap
The Skills tab on an employee profile has been redesigned. Each skill is rated on a 1 to 5 scale and shown next to the level the person's position expects, grouped by category, with a clickable summary to filter down to the gaps. Managers can see their whole team's skills in one grid, save their own views of it, and filter the People list by skill. Search now understands synonyms and abbreviations, so "k8s" finds Kubernetes. Skills can also be linked to certificates, so approving a certificate grants the skill and an expired one is flagged and no longer counts toward matching. Learn more about certificate skills →
Reports now in the Employee Hub
Reports you publish in Salesforce now also appear in the Employee Hub, in a My data library for each employee and a My team library for managers, with grouping, charts and a click-through to the underlying records. They replace the fixed Analytics screens. In Salesforce, reports can be embedded as charts, tables or number tiles on any page, and a new Metrics tab shows an employee's time balance, hours and absences. Learn more about reports →
Change an absence after it is approved
Employees can request a change to an existing absence, such as different dates, straight from their absences page, and it goes to their manager for approval like any other request. To switch it on, an HR admin adds the Absence change form from the request form templates. If a manager rejects a change request, the employee now sees the reason in the notification and in the request. Learn more about absence change requests →
Kiosks that clock in the way you want
Each flair Kiosk can now be set to ask for confirmation, clock in with one tap, or clock employees in as soon as they identify themselves. Clocking out always needs a tap, so a second scan never ends a shift by accident. An optional success sound confirms each clock-in, clock-out and break. A kiosk now runs on one device at a time, so a second tablet can no longer open the same kiosk unnoticed. Learn more about kiosk setup →
Budgets with their own home
Budget managers get a Budgets tab under Compensations showing commitments, salary costs and coverage, where they can create, publish and assign salaries to budgets. Money left over from a finished compensation review can be transferred into another budget, and each manager's review status now shows directly on the budget consumption view. When you create a job from a position, its salary range fills in from the position's pay band. Learn more about budget transfers →
Send email from your own server
Applicant and employee emails can now go out through your own email server, such as AWS SES or SendGrid, instead of through Salesforce. That removes Salesforce's limit of 5,000 emails a day. Your admin adds an SMTP integration, and your domain's SPF and DKIM records need to authorise the server. Learn more about custom SMTP →
Time off earned from hours worked
Accrual policies can now award time off based on the hours an employee actually worked, read from approved timesheets, with an optional yearly cap and balance limit. It suits hourly and part-time staff whose entitlement grows with the work they do. Learn more about accrual policies →
Tables you can shape
Admins can now choose which filters appear above the Company Directory, the My Absences list and the colleagues absence calendar, and which columns appear in Team → People, with their own names and order. The team calendar gains a reporting line filter for direct reports or everyone below you. In Salesforce, the Staff → Employees tab can filter on any employee field, with saved views and a default view. Nothing changes until an admin edits the setup. Learn more about table setup →
Smaller Updates & Fixes
- Employee Hub: The Hub has a refreshed look, with a lighter sidebar, clearer navigation and redesigned buttons, tables, dialogs and notifications. On phones, the menu opens as a slide-in panel.
- Employee Hub: Date fields accept typing as well as the picker, and list filters can be searched.
- Payroll: Entering an IBAN fills in the bank name and BIC, and an invalid IBAN is flagged straight away.
- Payroll: Time balance payouts can carry their own pay type, separately for automatic and employee-requested payouts, so they reach payroll correctly.
- Documents: Signers can fill in a date, a place or a custom text field next to their signature, and the eSign screen shows how many signatures you have used this billing period.
- Documents: Each placeholder in Document Builder can have its own date format.
- Absence Management: Absence category names can be translated into each company language, so employees see them in their own language once your admin adds the translations.
- Absence Management: Time used in categories without a balance now shows directly on the employee record.
- Recruiting: Scheduled emails can be previewed with merge fields filled in and edited before they go out, and scheduling an email can move the candidate to a new stage at the same time.
- Recruiting: A job's first candidate can be created straight from a CV, and candidate email replies stay in one thread.
- Time Tracking: Projects can be searched by name and filters saved as named views.
- Settings: Managers can be allowed to see employee records for everyone in their reporting chain, not only direct reports.
- Engagement: eNPS surveys and Smiley Check-Ins can be set to anonymous responses.
